![]() ![]() Makeup Artists don't tend to use dampened sponges like Beauty Blender due to the inability to properly clean it and use either latex sponges or brushes. I don't know how much of it depends on the method of application. * Disclaimer: Having said all that, I am told by a few friends some makeup artists that this is not their product of choice as they find it too creamy and heavy. I haven't found it drying with prolonged use and I've been using mine practically not stop for just under the year now. It does not set in my lines too much, no more than any other concealer and sits there comfortably for 16+ hours. I apply quite a bit of it every day, blend it with my trusty Beauty Blender and set with powder and same dampened sponge to flawless yet somehow light finish. Personally, I love how blendable it is and that it offers a true full coverage without compromising on the finish. The formula is ultra creamy and I was surprised to learn that some find it heavy. It's ultra brightening under eyes and even keep the red nose at bay. Together with RCMA No-Colour Powder give me the perfect duo for baking! The formula doesn't oxidise throughout the day and give me that high fashion contoured look. It's the only one that fully covers everything, from redness through dark circles to spots and stays put for hours and hours on end. It's one I use for both concealing under eyes but also matte highlighting the high points of my face. I have even found my perfect shade in Fair. You know my never-ending love for Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer. I do agree that it is VERY similar to the Tarte Shape Tape, however the shade range is very disappointing.Buy now: Tarte US (£22.00 + potential customs) | QVC UK (£28.02 with sponge + P&P £3.95) ![]() I think brands really need to start taking responsibility for their actions and face the consequences of excluding WOC everywhere.įinal verdict, is that this definitely going to be a new staple in my beauty routine. I know that Tarte is currently postponing their Shape Tape Foundation launch because of the backlash they are receiving about their color range, and I for one am all about it. That is super concerning considering how fair I am, and how many different skin tones are out there. This is probably my biggest complaint overall given the fact that if I were to tan in the summer, I am not sure that I would be able to find a match. All of which are incredibly fair and very similar in color. Online they only have 3 shades, Light Natural, Porcelain, and Light Beige. The last thing that I do want to point out is the shade range. I always immediately set my under eye area with powder before any creasing happens, and that’s exactly what I did with my Catrice. EVERY concealer creases on me and it’s a huge pain. CreasingĪs far as creasing goes, I am definitely not the one to ask. But I guess a floral scent is much better than the fishy/fart smell that comes with the Makeup Forever Stick Foundation. Also though on a side note, why do concealers/foundations have to have a smell at all? It has always seemed soooo extra to me. However after a few minutes I did stop smelling it altogether so it’s not too bad. It does have a certain floral/hairspray scent to it, which I don’t mind too much, but if you’re sensitive to smells I can definitely see this being an issue. I do know of some people having an issue with how thick the Shape Tape formula is and that it doesn’t work well on their skin, so if you fall in to that category I would definitely suggest testing this concealer out in the store before you purchase. I have super dry skin and this didn’t agitate or flake at all. The Catrice concealer is a little more liquid-y, but not by much. The consistency is pretty similar if I do say so myself. It only lasts for about 10-15 seconds and then it goes away, but it freaked me out the first time I used it! Now I kind of like it…It sort of feels refreshing. It applies very smooth, immediately upon applying I felt this strong cooling sensation. The arm swatches looked promising, so I decided to take a leap of faith and instead of repurchasing my tried and true Shape Tape, and I went to and purchased the ever-so-promising Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer. BUT, on a recent Youtube binge, I came across a Tati Westbrook video where she debuts a $6 Shape Tape dupe….sorry did I not say that loud enough? ok hold on….ahem *clears throat* A $6 DOLLAR SHAPE TAPE DUPE?! It can’t be! Behold, the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer. My money is tiiiiiight! Some days, it just does not seem feasible to spend $27 on one makeup item. Now, I am a young, recently married lady. It really does make all of the difference in my makeup routine and my face just feels so bare without it! I won’t be wearing any makeup until I am able to restock. ![]() If I run out of my Shape Tape, there is no moving past it. If you know me, you know that there is one beauty product that I simply CANNOT go without. ![]()
